Twitter Provides New Ad Placement Controls

Twitter has announced the introduction of their Adjacency Controls for advertisers and updates on their partnerships with Ad Science and DoubleVerify to produce independent reports on why certain ads appear on Twitter. The new Adjacency Controls will allow advertisers to prevent their ads from appearing next to tweets which use key words that they avoid. To begin with this will apply to Tweets in English only with other languages to follow. This feature will build on Twitter’s safety protections and controls for advertisers. Twitter’s research partnerships will provide an independent validation of Twitter’s efforts to uphold the GARM Brand Safety Floor as well as giving advertisers reassurance on the effectiveness of Adjacency Controls to ensure brand suitability.

TikTok Explains Why A Video Is Recommended For You

TikTok has released a new tool to help viewers understand why they see certain content on their ‘For You’ page, outlining that videos are recommended based on many activity factors in the app including, modifying content based on what users suggest they are and aren’t interested in. TikTok is introducing a new tool to make it easier for users to understand why they are viewing certain content. This can be found in the share panel, then by tapping on the question mark icon called "Why this video". TikTok has also announced that For You content is dictated by factors such as; user interactions, popular content in your region and accounts you follow or suggested accounts for you.

Instagram Navigation Is Changing In February

Instagram have announced that from February they are changing their navigation to make it easier for their users to connect with others and share content. These changes include the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen now will have a shortcut for users to create reels content, which will hopefully encourage users to create more reels content. Also, whilst users will still be able to set up and run a shop on the app and Instagram claims to continue to invest in shopping experiences in the app they will be removing the shop tab from the navigation bar. The Shop tab will be removed from the app.

LinkedIn Previews New Job and B2B Product Search Options Coming in 2023

LinkedIn has announced 5 new product updates for 2023. The first being #BigIdeas2023 where LinkedIn users can post their big ideas predictions from 2023. There will also be standardised accessibility job titles, improved video accessibility and personalised job opportunities. They are also introducing new ways to make business purchases on LinkedIn easier where members can easily discover and find them directly from LinkedIn search. There will also be additional scheduling features allowing users to create scheduled posts and get insights on how they are performing.

Track Fitness Stats And Monitor Your Heart Rate On Meta Quest

Meta have announced exciting new updates to their Meta Quest VR equipment which could hopefully encourage users to be more active. Meta will be introducing a new heart rate tracking feature enabling users to meet their fitness goals and track their heart rate during a VR workout. This addition will come from Health Connect by Android being integrated into the Meta Quest, users will be able to sync the Health Connect application to their mobile devices to track their workouts and progress. Also, for a limited time, users will get the ‘Elite Strap’ with the purchase of a Meta Quest 2, which helps balance and support your headset, making it incredibly useful for the introduction of VR workouts.
