Twitter Adds Updates for Video Content

Twitter has added two new features for video content, making it easier for users to find and watch content on the platform. The first is an immersive viewing and easy discovery update, which expands videos to full screen when the video is clicked. When viewing videos full screen, users will now also be able to simply scroll up from the original video to browse more content. Twitter is also introducing a new video carousel to their Explore tab to help users to easily find videos that may be of interest to them.

TikTok Shares Guide on How To Develop An Effective Marketing Approach

TikTok has recently published a guide to help marketers and businesses in creating an activation and content marketing strategy. The guide outlines questions to consider in relation to organic and paid content, and a framework which brands can use to help define unique goals and challenges to help inform their strategy. TikTok has also outlined some statistics, including how a combination of organic content and paid ads is an effective way to attract potential customers.

Meta Announces 2022 Facebook Communities Summit Event

Meta has announced that it will be holding its Facebook Communities Summit 2022 on 20/10/2022 at 5pm (BST). This will be a virtual event which will look to celebrate inspiring community builders as well as hearing from Facebook leaders. It is also outlined that Facebook will discuss a number of new products and features to help in building and growing groups. If Facebook is a key element of your business’ social marketing strategy it may be with considering tuning in.

LinkedIn Adds New Features For Company Pages

LinkedIn is adding new features to LinkedIn Pages, including clickable links and post templates. Post templates will allow LinkedIn mobile app users to utilise pre-created, visual templates with many different options such as font, colour, text, plus more. These creative formats could be a great way to make your company’s posts stand out on the audience's feed. Users will also have the ability through the LinkedIn mobile app to add a clickable link icon on a template, image or video which viewers can interact with. LinkedIn is also adding the option for companies to include an "our featured commitments" section to their profiles, in which they can include up to five commitments from the following; Diversity, equity, and inclusion, Career growth and learning, Work-life balance, Social impact and Environmental sustainability.

Meta Announces New Privacy-Focused Ad Targeting Solutions

Meta has announced new updates to help advertisers to reach customers based on the ways they are spending their time on their platforms. This includes how Facebook is introducing new Reels ads and updates to the video ecosystem. Meta has outlined that Reels has seen over a 30% increase in engagement across Facebook and Instagram as per in Meta’s Q2 earnings report. 

In response to this, and as music/sound is recognised as one of the key Reels engagement features, Meta is releasing free, high quality songs from Meta Sound Collection which can be added to Carousel Ads on Reels. Meta is also introducing new ad placements and formats on Instagram to help businesses better connect with their audience. The first new feature for this is the introduction of ads on the Explore home and profile feed, meaning that advertisers can now place ads on the grid in Explore home. The second feature is AI powered multi-advertiser ads, meaning that Instagram will load more recommended similar ads to a user after they engage with an ad, as this has been found to be an effective marketing tool on the platform.
